History
The Town of Portsmouth granted developers of Clock Tower Square a PUD (planned unit development) designation, addressing the need for specialty service and professional office space. When development began in 2005, two highly attractive condominium buildings were completed and sold. One, a single-occupant building, is located at the entrance and is the current home of the Portsmouth Publick House. The other, a two story, wooden shingled building, consisting of nearly 19,000 square feet contains six store front retail spaces on the lower level and six professional office units on the upper level.
Future Development Plans
A thriving, Main Street shopping destination is the goal. Cooperative marketing drives traffic to everyone, and 40 small businesses will benefit from their proximity to each other.

With a vision of creating a vibrant working and shopping experience with that “Main Street USA” feel, the owners are ready to begin on the newest phase of the Clock Tower Square project. The project is permitted for a total of 96,000 square feet spread over five buildings. The developer is currently seeking buyer proposals for spaces in a third building containing 22,000 square feet, which mirrors the second building in design and use.
Clock Tower Square is a commercial condominium project dedicated to space for specialty retail and service providers and professional office suites. The buildings are flexible and can accommodate unit sizes ranging from 1,000 to 25,000 square feet. Units can be tailored to meet individual specifications.
